The year 1912 marks the completion of the conquest of America. The last two continental states, Arizona and New Mexico, join the Union that year, and for the first time the flag is stable enough to have an official design. In their long march from sea to sea, the Americans have defeated the British, the French, the Spanish, the Mexicans, the Iroquois, the Cherokee, the Sioux, and the Apache. They have pushed themselves to the front of the world, but who are they that wave this new flag, and why?
